Nourishing Minds, One Meal at a Time

At Pike County Schools, our Child Nutrition Program is all about fueling our students with meals that are not only nutritious — but delicious too! Every dish we serve meets strict state and federal guidelines to ensure your child gets the right balance of calories, fat, and essential vitamins.

Here’s what you can expect from our weekly menus:

  • different vegetable every day to keep things colorful and fresh

  • different fruit each day, including at least two fresh fruits every week

  • Cooked dry beans or peas served once a week for extra plant-powered protein

  • Whole grain goodness daily, or at least three times per week (all our pastas and breads are made with whole wheat)

  • Only low-fat or skim milk, available flavored or unflavored, to pair with every meal

And here’s the great news: Pike County Schools is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) this school year! That means every student will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost—no applications necessary. (Note: A la carte items are not included in the free meals.)

We’re proud to serve meals that help our students learn, grow, and thrive — every single day.
